who have many varied disabilities and illnesses. All of our programs are taught
by caring, trained staff who will work closely with you. Whether you have worked

Adapted Driver Education
- assesses the potential of people with disabilites to drive and operate modified vehicles equipped with individually prescribed devices. The ability to independently travel to work, social events, medical appointments, etc. is among the most valued service offered by CEI to Long Island residents.

Adult Learning Services
- assists adults to improve their academic skills needed to qualify for higher levels of training, education and employment. These services include Adult Basic Education, GED training and preparation for civil service and other pre-employment examinations.

Business Skills with Office Technology & Applications Training
- Get ready for the corporate world by preparing for a variety of positions in a modern business office. Using state-of-the-art technologies and popular business software, participants learn practical job skills ranging from Data Entry and Administrative Assistant to Accounting Clerk and Microsoft Office Application Specialist.

- provides support and guidance to program participants throughout their participation in evaluation and/or training, and helps them to clarify and to reach their career goals.

Career Assessment
- evaluates and matches interests, skills and work abilities with individual career goals. Individuals are assessed to determine their potential for higher education and for any skill(s) required to achieve their job goals.

Laboratory Assistant Training
- Participate in an actual laboratory setting using state-of-the art equipment to prepare for positions in clinical, environmental, pharmaceutical or research laboratories. Learn to perform laboratory operating procedures and maintenance, and develop problem-solving skills. The teaching is conducted in a small-group setting specially designed to ensure that each student is fully proficient in performing laboratory procedures upon completion of the program. Internships at leading pharmaceutical, clinical and environmental companies are offered to help expose the student to lab duties in various roles. We are pleased to offer this training not only in our Nassau site but also at the satellite program located in Brookhaven National Laboratories, Upton, NY. Great opportunities available in both Nassau and Suffolk counties, as well as Queens and Manhattan.

Steps Toward Employment Program (STEP)
- Focus is on developing work behaviors and skills that will lead to employment. Members of the community provide opportunities for participants to learn assembly, retailing, food service and maintenance.
